Unique O₂Guard helps reduce the risk of hypoxia
Active hypoxia prevention
Our O2Guard is the world’s only system for active hypoxia prevention. Should the inspired oxygen level drop below 21%, the O2Guard automatically overrules the settings and increases the flow of oxygen and fresh air. The risk of hypoxia is minimized. [1]
The O2Guard is a standard feature on all our Flow Family anesthesia machines.
Avoid hypoxic mixtures during low-flow anesthesia
How Getinge's unique O₂Guard works
An active hypoxic guard system intervenes if the clinician has not taken action before the O2 level in the inspired gas drops below 21%. The active hypoxic guard will then override the clinician’s settings, preventing further delivery of hypoxic mixtures.
3-step safety with O₂Guard
In three steps, the O2Guard automatically increases the fresh gas and O2 settings to ensure that hypoxic mixtures can never be delivered to the patient. If the inspired O2 level still does not increase, the system will be flushed with 100% O2.
More innovations for our anesthesia machines
With our flow anesthesia technology you can easily ensure the perfect flow for each patient, fine-tuning anesthesia delivery in real time, breath by breath.
