Getinge launches interactive virtual hospital to showcase medtech solutions for customers

In addition to the physical Experience Centers where visitors can interact with Getinge’s products and solutions – a virtual hospital is now launching to simulate a state-of-the-art hospital environment also online. First out is Getinge’s solutions for the intensive care unit.

Getinge Virtual Hospital will provide a comprehensive tour of hospital departments fully equipped with Getinge products and technologies – similar to the real-world Experience Centers in Germany, China, Japan and the USA.

“In times when travel and in-person contact is very limited, the possibility to step into our virtual hospital fills a crucial gap. It also provides long-term possibilities for visitors who might not otherwise be able to come to any of our Experience Centers,” says Jeanette Hedén Carlsson, EVP Communication & Brand Management at Getinge.

The tool uses elements inspired by gamification where visitors can take a virtual walk and explore freely, navigating in front of their screen or device where they want to go next. There are possibilities to lift, move, rotate and examine all products in detail – very similar to how they would be experienced in a real-life setting.

“In the virtual hospital you can interact with our solutions – for example move one of our ceiling supply units around the bedside or work with the INSIGHT Patient Flow Management to see how changes affect the workflows. Customers can do this at their own pace, or experience it together with our sales representatives via Teams or similar. This gives a comprehensive understanding of how each element of our offering fits into the hospital environment,” tells Jeanette.

First out to open up is Getinge’s offering for the intensive care unit (ICU) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). More departments at Getinge Virtual Hospital will open up in the months to come.

“This can include additional collaboration features and possibilities to use it also for training purposes,” Jeanette concludes.

Getinge Virtual Hospital is available for download in App Store and can be accessed from getinge.com. For questions, reach out to your local Getinge sales representative.
