Your Rights
A fundamental part of the data protection legislation is the existence of certain rights for you to exercise when we process (e.g., collect, use and store) your personal data. The rights below are found in the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and applies for entities in our group in scope of this regulation. Since our parent company Getinge AB, is based in Sweden, as well as many of our group companies, GDPR is the basis for our global data privacy program.
Getinge will assess each request on a case-by-case basis, determining if you have the right(s) requested, and the scope of such right(s). As you may be aware of, the rights are not absolute, and exceptions may apply (we describe the exceptions under each right). Also, to protect your privacy and avoid a situation where we give someone else access to your personal data, we may (if necessary) require you to provide more information to prove your identity.
Usually, you will be able to request us to fulfill your rights without any cost. However, if your request is clearly unfounded or excessive, we may charge a reasonable fee.
If you are interested in reading more about your rights, please visit the European Commission’s Q&A, or the website of any data protection authority listed here. Information from the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection is found here.
