The New Multimodal Hybrid Operating Theaters at Circolo Hospital
Circolo Hospital - ASST SetteLaghi recently undertook a major renovation project that led to the construction of two multimodal hybrid operating rooms, dedicated to neurosurgery and interventional cardiology, respectively. These innovations not only represent a breakthrough in medical technology, but also meet the growing needs for efficiency and safety in the surgical field.
The Hybrid Rooms project
The new hybrid rooms are designed to integrate several state-of-the-art technologies. Within them we find a dedicated angiograph for interventional cardiology and a sliding gantry CT to support both neurosurgery and cardio. In the dedicated neurosurgery room are technologies that support the surgeon with three-dimensional technology.
Technological innovations
Among the innovations in the project is the implementation of 3D technology, which is particularly required to meet the needs of neurosurgery. The integration of compatible systems allows operations to be visualized with a sense of depth never seen before. In addition, the image integration system supports signal export, facilitating video conferencing and real-time consultations. With 75-inch monitors in ultra-high resolution 4K, operators can enjoy greater accuracy and comfort during operations.
Design and collaboration
The project was carried out in partnership with Siemens Healthineers, with a collaborative approach involving engineers and key users at different stages of the design. Through dedicated meetings, we customized the project to meet the hospital's specific needs. Despite the renovation, construction management did not disrupt surgeries, thanks to careful site compartmentalization.
Benefits for hospital and patients
These hybrid rooms will not only revolutionize the work of operators, but also bring significant patient safety benefits. The ability to connect the angiograph and fully integrate the rooms is an important step toward more seamless and coordinated surgery. CircoloHospital thus confirms itself as a center of excellence, also from a training perspective for medical staff.
The new multimodal hybrid rooms project represents an important milestone for CircoloHospital, reflecting an ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare. Collaboration continues to be the key to meeting future challenges and improving the quality of health care.
