Kartik Natarajan, Managing Director Getinge Australia and New Zealand is proud of Getinge people and the shared purpose they have, helping customers to save lives and bring loved ones back home.

Acknowledging that Getinge’s success begins with its people, Kartik Natarajan feels fortunate to lead a diverse and passionate team across Australia and New Zealand.

“It starts with our people and it’s an honour and privilege to lead a very talented and incredibly diverse and passionate bunch of people throughout Australia and New Zealand”

In the dynamic and rapidly evolving landscape of MedTech, where a wide range of solutions are offered, Kartik emphasises the significance of maintaining a shared purpose as the guiding principle.

“Our staff really believe in delivering a positive healthcare experience and a complete experience throughout the hospital, allowing our healthcare professionals to focus on the best possible treatment and achieve the best clinical outcomes for their patients.”

An exciting prospect for Getinge Australia and New Zealand is the Hospital Transformation Partnership concept. Kartik recognises that this represents a pivotal avenue for enhancing healthcare delivery. By embracing innovative technologies, optimising processes, and fostering collaboration, these partnerships promise to elevate the quality and efficiency of healthcare facilities and hospitals.

“In Australia and New Zealand today, we’re just getting started. We’ve had a number of discussions with both public and private hospitals, all centred on how they can use an existing product better to achieve further efficiency gains or how they can introduce a new product to improve OR efficiency.”

Joining Getinge in the midst of a global pandemic, Kartik and his team have faced many external challenges such as freight delays, long lead times and raw material shortages.

“Our staff have responded to these challenges that have been thrown at them in a remarkably resilient way and in a way that has allowed us to continue to grow our business.”

On the topic of people, Kartik speaks with a sense of pride about the various well-being initiatives that have been put into action. One of the fundamental principles underlying this approach is to ensure employees proritise taking the necessary time to disconnect from work.

“We’ve introduced the concept of well-being days, birthday leave, volunteer leave and also additional annual leave for those who take their full annual leave entitlement.”

Looking towards the future for Getinge Australia and New Zealand, Kartik emphasises that in a fast-moving and ever-changing environment, with such a broad portfolio of solutions, the guiding principle is Getinge’s shared purpose.
